Why is it important to shoot down a spy satellite?
Q. I heard it's costing like a gazillion dollars. What's up with that?
Asked by Nancy Pants - Sat Feb 16 03:47:02 2008 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments
A. It's full of secret toxic stuff and they don't want the toxic stuff hurting anyone or the secret stuff being found. You don't really want your spy satellite crashing in North Korea or Cuba or Iran or wherever. So if they break it up the small pieces will mostly burn up in the atmosphere and the bigger pieces can be aimed at the ocean where they won't hurt anyone. I just hope they don't screw it up and create a ton of space junk like the Chinese did when they blew up a satellite a while back.
